PhD Neuroscientist. Behaviour Expert. Change Evangelist. Social Entrepreneur. Career Reinvention Specialist. Life and Business Strategist. Keynote Speaker. Positive Impactor.

So many of us go through life wanting so much but actually never take any action to reach those dreams and desires. We become slaves to the story we are telling ourselves. Even though most things are probably within our grasp, there is always resistance which raises it’s little voice and finds an endless amount of reasons to justify why something cannot happen.

Our guest this week, Grace Lee, is somebody who knows all too well about the fruits of hard work, dedication and persistence. Life has thrown her many more curveballs than most, and yet she has always managed to somehow deal with these challenges and resurrect herself and her situation.

Dr Grace Lee, was always very close to her mother. She never built up a relationship, or even much rapport with her father at all. On the night of her 8th birthday, everything would change forever. Her whole family was involved in a head-on collision and she would never see her mother again. Grace spent a year in hospital recovering from severe injuries.

Grace was a tenacious and determined young lady. As a teenager, she used to waitress tables and earn $2 a day. It was one serendipitous evening of serving some repeat clients when they asked her if she needed a place to stay. These ‘strangers’ offered to take her home, invited her back to their house and so she took them up on it. She was desperate at the time, and they knew that.

This kind gesture would turn into something far greater and more beautiful than she could have ever imagined. Those two people are now her Foster parents. Her newfound security and the fact that her basic needs were being met, gave her the mental freedom to think about other things again.

After her first university degree, she chose to move outside of her comfort zone and moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, to pursue a Master’s degree in Neuroscience. With no financial aid, she gave herself one year to complete her degree before her savings ran out.

During her career, she was introduced to keynote speaking and coaching, which she now focuses on full time. Dr Grace Lee is not your stereotypical Neuroscientist and behaviour expert. She is a change evangelist, quantum leap accelerator, and a career reinvention specialist, who is on a mission to end the separation between work and fulfilment.

Grace certainly is a very wise and special lady, who has a big place in our hearts. She tells her story with such enthusiasm and carries a big smile with great energy. It’s really hard to imagine what she has been through in her life and yet she continues to serve and help others in need because she believes that we are all designed for our own greatness. It’s discussions like these which really put things into perspective and give us hope and encouragement that where there’s a will, there’s a way.

We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.

Let’s find out what it means for Grace Lee, to be Ridiculously Human.
